On the 29th, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, Gharibabadie, stated that the Strait of Hormuz is currently completely closed. Any ships passing through this strait must go through the coordination and permission of Iran.

Gharibabadie said that the Iranian armed forces have full control over all the movements in the Strait of Hormuz. The claim made by the US regarding ships passing through this strait is "completely untrue".

He said that Iran has reached an understanding with Oman regarding the arrangements for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. However, the Strait will not reopen until the US fulfills its commitment.
